Introduction
My name is Xiaofei Long. I am currently a first year graduate student in Computer Science and Engineering Department of Texas A&M University. This is my personal web page for the Computer Human Interaction class.
I take this class because of the increasing importance of CHI. Decades ago, computers were mostly used by specialists and technicians. They cared more about functionality rather than interaction. But nowadays, PCs, smartphones and many other electronic devices are accessible to almost everyone. They are widely used in business and personal life. Meanwhile, tons of applications came out to satisfy users' needs. In the case, if one product does a terrible job on computer-human interaction, it will very likely be defeated by other products with similar functionality.
The study of CHI involves multiple disciplines, like Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, Industry Design, etc. Thus it is really interesting and worthwhile to learn it.
